“Mija”- A full circle journey for the artist who battles immigration, music, and pushing boundaries.

By Gardenia Zuniga

“Mija” is an open letter from daughters of immigrant parents who pursue their careers out of necessity instead of passion. Both Doris Munoz and Jacks Haupt open their journey to Emmy nominated filmmaker Isabel Castro.

Castro captures moments of an artist's vulnerability trying to make it in the industry while battling issues that immigrant children encounter. Immigration is a subject in the story that will share the fight for their dreams. Mija is a documentary that will give its viewers hope throughout the story.
